Zenonia 2

With Nintendo having zero plans to bring Zelda to the iPhone (and why would it?), it left a vacuum on the App Store than Gamevil was handily able to fill. Zenonia was a wonderful, Zelda-esque adventure. A year later, Zenonia 2 slashes its way into the App Store with a host of good upgrades that make this former mobile phone game much friendlier for the iPhone, such as being able to navigate menus by touch instead of relying on a virtual stick.

The Hero

Take to the skies and live the high life as a muscle-bound, superhero playboy. Catch falling babies, douse towering infernos, battle giant insects and thwack thieving crooks as you amass ever-increasing fame and adulation. The Hero is a lightning-fast arcade romp that sizzles with comic book style, sassy characters and superhuman gameplay.

Vampire Origins

After being trained by the ancient fathers known only as The Order, Vincent began his life as a vampire hunter. His deep hatred for the blood-sucking scourge grew exponentially after his bride was brutally murdered. Vincent’s anger grew and the destruction that lay in his wake brought him to the attention of Valafar, the evil Vampire leader.

Valafar, The highest of the Vampire Lords challenged Vincent to dual. Valafar was too strong and upon loosing the fight and being cast into the depths of the underworld. Only the memory of his fallen bride remained with Vincent, now a shadow of his former self.

Driven by revenge, Vincent now returns to the mortal realm to bring war to the plague of vampires that had infested or destroyed all that was good in the world.

Monster Truck

In the game you are in a race of time against fierce competitors, and even more intimidating courses. Use nitro boosts, huge jumps, and high speeds to unlock different levels and also bigger and badder Monster Trucks. This is one of those iPhone apps that does a good job of keeping you entertained while keeping just the right amount of difficulty. It is not so easy that you are not challenged, but not so difficult that you end up just giving up. Also, the app is updated to add new vehicles like the Stars and Stripes truck, among others. The graphics in the game are pretty incredible, and it is all in 3D. The levels are very interactive and you will find yourself going off huge jumps and smashing into walls around turns.

Iron Man

Iron Man was one of my favorite movies of 2008. So I was pretty excited to learn there was an iPhone version that just hit the App Store. I couldn’t wait to get in the gold and red armor and kick some butt with the latest in Stark technology. The battle with Iron Monger was going to be great… except, there is no Iron Monger. No Mandarin either. In fact, the only thing you fight in this game are airplanes and drones. What a bummer.

Aqua Forest 2

Aqua Forest 2 is the sequel to Hudson Entertainment’s popular puzzle game, Aqua Forest. The sequel features 50 challenging stages that task the player with guiding a water droplet past obstacles (such as lava, moss, and holes) and into the beaker. Each level is cleared as long as the tiniest amount of water is successfully navigated into the beaker, though you may replay levels in an attempt to get more water into the beaker (or to improve your time). Of course, the only benefit of getting more water in is the satisfaction of a higher score—on the main puzzle screen, each stage has your best time/water amounts displayed next to it.

Heavy Gunner 3D

Dust off that bandana, light your cigar, and put away your Teddy bear, because it’s time to become a turret-turning, machine-gun wielding badass. Heavy Gunner dispenses hot lead and frantic action in equally giant portions, and I guarantee you that your thumbs have never felt more powerful.

Chop Chop Ninja

Chop Chop Ninja by Gamerizon is a 2D side-scroller game with rich and colorful cartoon style graphics, slick animations, and unique controls. Move your character with no joystick or buttons. All you need is a finger to run, jump, and fight! These intuitive controls are really a joy to use, and you’ll get the hang of them real quick. Not only that but navigate through the levels by interacting with your environment and the enemies around you. See the video in action above for an overview of the application.

Hip Hop All Star

Hip Hop All Star has arrived on the App Store, attempting to emulate the success of other successful rhythm games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Tap Tap Revenge. It may seem like another rhythm game clone, but what may surprise many What may surprise many however, is the overall polish that I-Play’s Hip-Hop All Star offers.
